"My daughter took your debate class for the first time this fall and she has been very enthusiastic about it! She enjoyed coming up with arguments for each topic and writing about them. I signed her up because she has struggled in the past with speaking up in class and in front of others generally. I can tell she has gained confidence. She really wants to sign up for the spring term."

"Our PTA partnered with Odyssey Debate to offer a class for our students at Mosaic Elementary.  They were so easy to work with -- extremely responsive, organized, and professional.  We got great feedback about the class--students enjoyed themselves, kept busy during the class with well thought-out exercises, and learned a lot. On a personal note, my own daughter decided to join the class and had a great time.  She's looking forward to continuing with debate next year, and this class even inspired her to speak out at our local county supervisor's public hearing about an issue she cared about. I definitely recommend Odyssey Debate to other PTAs looking for afterschool enrichment." - Mosaic Elementary

Elementary (4-6th)

Our elementary school classes are held in-person at FCPS partner schools. Students learn how to create and backup arguments with evidence, think analytically, consider multiple perspectives, and develop research and speaking skills through drills, projects, and debate rounds.

Secondary (6-9th)

Our classes are held online via Zoom. Our middle school program is a team. Students collaborate in weekly practices, improving research, writing, and presenting skills. We send debaters to compete at national circuit tournaments online through universities like Georgetown learning oratory, research, and argumentation skills along the way. Registration is organized into 16 class blocks culminating in class tournaments.

Why Us

We foster a community among our debaters; they work together, collaborate, and compete at tournaments. With a head start, they can follow the debate community into high school, already competitive. Classes are taught by nationally ranked instructors who are passionate and excited to teach your students.
